PROGRAM DETAILS

  • You must be a minimum of 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED to participate in our boot camp.
  • The apprenticeship generally takes two years to complete, but you have up to four years to complete.
  • You must work a minimum of 32 hours per week. This includes practical hours, plus theory hours at the Tech College of your choice; High School Apprentice Brochure 2022 Fox Valley Tech in Appleton, or Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend.
  • Two-week unpaid interview boot camp (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with 1⁄2 hour lunch break) which includes training and observation to prepare you to work in the salon. 100% on-time attendance is required.
  • You must follow all Cost Cutters / Primrose Management Group Inc. rules and regulations.
  • You must always dress professionally. Hair must be styled and trendy
  • At any time, you may be released from the interview process if not meeting performance requirements.
  • On the 9th day of boot camp, you will perform services on six(6) live models, giving you your first experience completing services on real customers. Completion of services within guidelines is necessary to pass and be placed into a salon.

In Salon Experience - 
Your career AND your education!

  • Upon successful completion of our bootcamp, you will be placed in a participating salon and begin your career as a cosmetologist! Placement will be determined by the Trainer, District Leader and Owner based on availability. We try to place you as close to your home as possible. 
  • You will work the salon’s hours and needs; days, mid-shift, nights, and weekends all are required. You will be guaranteed 32 hours/week in the salon once you receive your apprentice license.
  • You must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to classroom instruction and on the job training.
  • Ongoing practical classes are required throughout the apprenticeship. You must attend all scheduled training sessions. Attending training classes, once hired, is paid time.
  • You must sign up and be in good standing with technical college for theory portion- includes you paying for your classes per tech school requirements and maintaining a passing grade per the State of WI (State requires a C or higher). Failure to do so will result in dismissal from the program and position with Cost Cutters.
  • You are paid guaranteed base pay plus commissions and tips once in the salon, and receive additional company benefits per company policy.
  • Reviews are conducted during the apprentice program with pay increases.
  • All assignments must be completed on time.
  • You must track all practical hours per service category. This is required by the State of Wisconsin. Theory hours are paid but do not count towards practical hours- all hours must be reported to the manager.
